Subject: Against Fast Spreading Ragging
Sir,
I wish to draw the attention of the authorities
concerned through the columns of your esteemed newspaper to the evil of ragging
fast spreading in colleges these days.
The evil of ragging in colleges is not a new thing. It
has its old history. Previously it was done with a good purpose. But now, it has
become an evil that must be stopped at once.
The seniors in colleges think it their right to do the
act of ragging with their juniors. They do this act in the name of fun and
introduction. But the junior students are forced to do immoral acts. They are
misbehaved and humiliated (insulted). Some students feel so much tortured that
they leave their studies in the middle of the session and come back to their
homes. Some commit suicide also.
There is a strict law against ragging. But it is not
implemented properly.
So I appeal to the principals of colleges and even the
officials of universities that strict action must be taken against the
culprits. Fear of ragging must be removed from the minds of the students.
Thanking you,
Abhishek
