What is a Memo?
A
memo is the short form of a memorandum (The plural form is Memoranda).
A. Letters
are used as a means of communication with other people, companies, or
firms. But a memo is written within an organisation, a company/firm
institution, an office, etc.
B. A
memo is written in short.
For
example, a managing director can circulate a memo to his employees in order to
instruct them about any point.
A
School Principal can instruct his staff about any point of concern.
Example:
Suppose
you are the Principal of a College. Write a memo to the College staff,
especially teachers, instructing them to reach school on time.
S.G.N. College of Education,
Narela
Date: 29 May 2022
Memo No: 234/29-05-2-22
To: All the staff-members
From: S. Sawant, the Principal
All
the staff members, especially the teachers, are required to pay attention to
the habit of late coming to the premises of the college. Some of you have made
your regular habit to reach college late even by half an hour. This is a
sheer disrespect to the orders issued several times to all in written form. The
management office-bearers have also taken a serious view of unpunctuality found
in several staff members.
So,
if any of the staff members reaches College late in the future, his or her
full-day absence would be marked in the attendance register.
In
case of any emergency, make a call and send a message to the coordinator well
in time.
Principal
