Subject: Against Fast Spreading Ragging

Sir,
I wish to draw the attention of the authorities concerned through the columns of your esteemed newspaper to the evil of ragging fast spreading in colleges these days.
The evil of ragging in colleges is not a new thing. It has its old history. Previously it was done with a good purpose. But now, it has become an evil that must be stopped at once.
The seniors in colleges think it their right to do the act of ragging with their juniors. They do this act in the name of fun and introduction. But the junior students are forced to do immoral acts. They are misbehaved and humiliated (insulted). Some students feel so much tortured that they leave their studies in the middle of the session and come back to their homes. Some commit suicide also.
There is a strict law against ragging. But it is not implemented properly.
So I appeal to the principals of colleges and even the officials of universities that strict action must be taken against the culprits. Fear of ragging must be removed from the minds of the students.
Thanking you,
Abhishek

Subject: Evil of Drinking Wine

Sir,
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to draw the attention of the people to the evil of drinking wine.
Sir, the habit of drinking wine, particularly in rural areas, has become an evil. Many people in villages are wine-addicts. There is hardly any house in villages in which one can find a person who has not drunk wine.
Under the effect of wine, mind becomes dull and inactive. It cannot act reasonably. It makes people sentimental and they easily pick up quarrels with others. They start shouting and abusing others. It leads to quarrels and creates disharmony in society.
Women and children are worst hit by this evil. They are often maltreated. Wine-addicts waste a lot of money and they do not fulfil even the basic needs of their families. They become selfish They only think of themselves. They do not pay school-fees of their children and take care of the ailing members of their families.
Under the evil effect of wine, several crimes like rape, murder and domestic violence occur in society.
Wine destroys not only physical and mental health of an individual but also of the whole society.
So it is direly (urgently) required that the social workers must come forward to awaken people against this fast spreading evil.
Thanking,
Yours faithfully,
Aniket

Subject: Scarcity of water

Sir,
Through the columns of your newspaper, I wish to draw the attention of the authorities concerned to irregular water supply in our area.
As the day begins, water is required in every house. But it is shocking that there is no water supply in the mornings many a time. Sometimes there is water in the pipes, but its flow is very weak. It takes much time to fill the buckets. Water does not reach even to the first floor. The people living at the first floors face great problem. They have to carry water in buckets from the ground floor. It can be well imagined about the condition of people without water.
At public places, one may find long queues (lines) of people standing there with buckets waiting for water. Sometimes, they lose patience and start quarrelling.
Is it not inhuman!
Sir, it becomes very urgent that the officials of the water supply department must act strongly and make the water supply regular in our area.
Thanking,
Your faithfully,
Kalyan Singh

Subject: Insanitary Conditions
Sir,
I wish to draw your attention to the insanitary conditions in our colony New Abadi.
Sir, It is really disgusting to see heaps of garbage almost scattered near the drains in our area. Water flow is often obstructed (stopped) by the garbage. It overflows in the streets. Mosquitoes breed on the dirty water. The sewerage system is often blocked due to poly-packs, etc. A foul smell has spread in the whole area. Pigs are found sitting in the drains. Cholera and malaria may spread anytime here.
Such is the condition of our locality. I, on behalf of all the residents of our locality, lodged a complaint seven days ago. But no action has been taken on it till now.
So I request you to kindly look into the matter personally and take immediate action to solve our problem.
Thanking,
Yours faithfully,

Subject: Irregular Electric Supply
Sir,
We are the residents of Krishna Nagar, Karnal. We are facing the problem of frequent cuts and breakdown in the electric supply in our colony these days.
Sir, you know that the summer season is at its peak. A heat wave is blowing. So it is very difficult to live without a fan or a cooler. We are unable to take rest in the afternoons and sleep properly at night. Children, old people and the patients feel much uncomfortable. Students cannot study without light. Kitchen appliances are useless without electric supply. Refrigerators are unable to keep cool temperature. So eatables and milk are often spoilt.
Keeping all these difficulties in your mind, please take immediate action to solve our problem.
Thanking,
Yours faithfully,

Subject: Landline Telephone Not Working Properly

Sir,
Please refer to my complaint number 24 lodged on Feb 15, 2020.
My telephone number is  223224 and I am a resident of Vijay Nagar. As mentioned above, I made my complaint on the 15th of Feb, 2020. On that day, I met the JE concerned also. He had assured me to make my telephone in working position within two hours. But till date, no one has come to my house to attend the complaint. This is very disappointing to me. Other companies are giving better service these days. I am unable to think as to why BSNL India is lagging behind in competition.
I hope you will act immediately to look into the matter seriously and get my complaint attended.
Thanking,
Yours faithfully
Rashmi

Making a cup of tea is an art. I know how to make a cup of tea. Let me explain the process of making a cup of tea.
First of all, I take a pan or a kettle. I put half cup of water in it. After that, I switch on the gas stove. Then I put the kettle on it. In a few seconds, water starts boiling. I put tea leaves and some sugar in it, I let the mixture boil for some time. Then I add some milk into it. Again, I let it boil. Now the tea is ready. I filter it into a cup. It is ready to be served.
