The Value of Discipline (Paragraphs for the Middlers)

 The Value of Discipline

The word ‘discipline’ has broad meaning, but here we have this word to mean ‘the ability to control behaviour’. The person  showing controlled behaviour towards others is said to be disciplined. He or she follows certain rules and regulations. Discipline is needed in all fields of life. If  children in the house are not in disciple, there will be chaos (disorder).  They will keep fighting between or among themselves and they will not listen to their parents. Suppose, there is no discipline is a class room. You can well imagine the fate of that class. The teacher will not be able to teach the students. Similarly, discipline is required everywhere. A system is to be followed by us if we want to achieve a target or an aim. Discipline can be of two types, internal and external. When we follow discipline of our own, thinking that it is very much required for our own success, this is called internal discipline. This type of discipline comes naturally from within the mind of the person. Another kind of discipline is the forced one and it is followed out of compulsion. The fear of the punishment or bad consequences makes the person follow it. Some people follow discipline naturally while many others follow it due to the fear of punishment. One should follow it naturally.
